Alejandro Aranda, known professionally as Scarypoolparty, is a musician from Pomona, California who gained recognition as runner-up on the seventeenth season of American Idol in 2019. Unlike typical competition contestants, Aranda performed original compositions rather than covers, including his song "Out Loud," which impressed judges Lionel Richie, Katy Perry, and Luke Bryan. His musical style blends folk, pop, and experimental rock with classical influences including Beethoven, Bach, and Chopin. Aranda is known for his fingerstyle guitar technique and piano proficiency. His discography includes the albums Exit Form (2019), Doom Hologram (2020), L.A. (2021), and The Act of Forgiveness (2021). Before his American Idol appearance, Aranda worked as a dishwasher and had been playing music for approximately four years. He won Artist of the Year from California State University, Northridge and Five of Five Entertainment in 2017.
