America - Upcoming SoCal Concerts

America formed in 1970 in London by Dewey Bunnell, Dan Peek, and Gerry Beckley, sons of U.S. Air Force personnel stationed in the UK. The trio drew from folk rock influences like Crosby, Stills & Nash, blending acoustic guitars, multi-instrumental skills, and close three-part harmonies across folk rock, soft rock, and pop rock styles. Their 1971 self-titled debut album included the #1 hit 'A Horse With No Name,' followed by successes like 'Ventura Highway,' 'Tin Man,' 'Sister Golden Hair,' and 'Lonely People.' They won a Grammy for Best New Artist in 1972 and collaborated with George Martin on seven albums. Dan Peek departed in 1977 due to artistic differences; Beckley and Bunnell continued as a duo, releasing hits like 'You Can Do Magic' in 1982. The band remains active in touring, delivering sets focused on their catalog of over 50 albums, with Bunnell as the sole original touring member following Beckley's retirement from the road.
