Angine de Poitrine is a Canadian rock duo from Saguenay, Quebec, formed in 2019 by musicians performing under the pseudonyms Khn de Poitrine and Klek de Poitrine. The pair have collaborated musically since their early teens, developing a distinctive sound that blends experimental rock with microtonal guitar work, polyrhythmic drumming, and elements of acid techno and disco. Their music is characterized by asymmetrical, dissonant compositions that challenge Western tuning conventions. The duo's visual presentation, elaborate costumes, masks, and performance art, originated as a practical solution to conceal their identities while performing at a venue where they had already appeared under a different project name. This aesthetic became integral to their artistic identity. Angine de Poitrine released their debut album Vol. 1 in 2024, followed by Vol. II in April 2026. Their profile expanded significantly following a February 2026 KEXP live session recording that accumulated millions of views online. Known for their intense live performances combining intricate instrumental arrangements with visual spectacle, the band is scheduled to tour the UK, France, Canada, and the United States through August 2026.
