Bad Gyal is a Spanish singer and songwriter from Barcelona, born Alba Farelo i Solé in 1997. She began her musical career in 2016 with a Catalan-language cover of Rihanna's "Work," which gained significant traction and led to her dropping out of university to pursue music full-time. Her musical style blends reggaeton, dancehall, and R&B, drawing influence from artists like Sean Paul and Rihanna. After signing with Interscope Records and Aftercluv in 2019, Bad Gyal achieved mainstream recognition with tracks including "Santa María," "Zorra," and "Alocao," the latter reaching number one in Spain in 2019. She has released two mixtapes, an EP titled Warm Up (2021), and two studio albums: La Joia (2024) and Más Cara (2026). Her work maintains a consistent fusion of Caribbean and Latin urban music styles.
