Banda Maguey - Upcoming SoCal Concerts

Banda Maguey formed in the early 1990s in Villa Corona, Jalisco, Mexico, emerging from the local musical tradition. Signed to Fonovisa in 1993, they debuted with Tumbando Caña in 1994, featuring the hit 'El Alacrán,' a cover of a track by La Sonora Matancera. Their style blends technobanda and onda grupera, characterized by brass arrangements, percussion, and vocals addressing love and heartbreak. The band followed with La Estrella de los Bailes in 1995, including singles 'Como la Luna,' 'Si Tú No Estás,' 'Que Sacrificio,' and 'Eva María' that charted locally. They released further albums such as Tu Eterno Enamorado (1996), El Mundo Gira (1997), and live recording Exitos En Vivo (1998), building a discography of over 15 studio albums. Banda Maguey performed their first U.S. show in May 1994 and remains active in regional Mexican music. Known for energetic live performances that emphasize danceable rhythms, they maintain popularity through concerts and compilations like '30 Grandes Éxitos.'
