Basement is an English band from Ipswich, Suffolk, formed in 2009. Their music is generally described as rock, with influences from emo, post-hardcore, grunge, and 1990s DIY punk; some sources also note a melodic hardcore or alternative rock style. The band’s releases include their early 7-inch "Songs About The Weather" and later albums such as "Colourmeinkindness" and "Promise Everything," which helped define their melodic, emotionally direct sound. Basement are also known for live performances that emphasize intensity and the energy of their 1990s-inspired rock arrangements.
