Alexander Leon Gumuchian, known professionally as bbno$, is a Canadian rapper, singer, and songwriter born on June 30, 1995, in Vancouver, British Columbia. He began making music around 2014 after a back injury ended his aspirations as a professional swimmer, initially experimenting with GarageBand alongside friends in a group called Broke Boy Gang before pursuing solo work. Starting in September 2016, he released tracks on SoundCloud under the moniker bbnomula, gaining early popularity in China through viral exposure. Bbno$'s style blends hip-hop with melodic, oxymoronic rap elements influenced by artists like Tupac Shakur, Gucci Mane, Chief Keef, Yung Lean, and Pouya. He rose to prominence with the 2019 single 'Lalala' featuring Y2K, which amassed over one billion streams, followed by collaborations with Yung Gravy and the 2021 track 'Edamame' featuring Rich Brian. In 2025, he received the Juno Fan Choice Award. Bbno$ is recognized for energetic live performances, including sold-out headlining tours in China and improvisational shows where he has engaged crowds with push-ups amid technical issues.
