Beartooth is an American metal band from Columbus, Ohio, formed in 2012 by vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Caleb Shomo. The project began as Shomo’s solo recording outlet and developed into a full band, with Shomo also known for writing and recording much of the studio material himself. Their early releases established a heavy sound rooted in metalcore, with later work incorporating elements of hard rock and punk-influenced melodies. Beartooth’s debut album, Disgusting (2014), and follow-up Aggressive (2016) brought wider attention; Aggressive reached No. 2 on the US Indie albums chart and the UK Rock albums chart. The band is also known for intense live performances and crowd-focused shows that emphasize high energy and audience interaction.
