Bit Brigade - Upcoming SoCal Concerts

Bit Brigade formed in 2003 in Athens, Georgia, when guitarist Bryant Williamson and Andy Pruett, inspired by a late-night NES session playing Contra, recruited speedrunner Noah McCarthy to perform video game soundtracks as a rock band. Initially a side project of Williamson's band Cinemechanica, the group performs hard-rock covers of classic NES titles such as Contra, DuckTales, Mega Man 2, and The Legend of Zelda, with McCarthy speedrunning the game live on a projected screen while the band synchronizes in real time. The current lineup includes guitarists Bryant Williamson and Taylor Washington (replacing Jace Bartet), bassist Luke Fields, and drummer Mike Albanese, alongside McCarthy on NES. They have toured nationally, appearing at conventions like PAX, MAGFest, and Games Done Quick, where performances draw large crowds through synchronized musicianship and gameplay. Bit Brigade remains active, blending rock instrumentation with NES compositions originally structured for small ensembles.
