Buzzcocks are an English punk rock band formed in Bolton, Greater Manchester, in 1976 by Pete Shelley and Howard Devoto. Early members also included Steve Diggle and John Maher, and the group became associated with the first wave of British punk while also incorporating strong pop songwriting into their material. The band first drew attention with the independently released EP Spiral Scratch in 1977 and followed with a run of singles and albums that included 'Orgasm Addict' and 'Ever Fallen in Love (With Someone You Shouldn't've)'. Buzzcocks split in 1981, reunited in 1989, and have continued to perform and record in later lineups after Pete Shelley’s death in 2018. Their live shows are generally centered on punk-era catalog material and later songs from their reunion period.
