Calvin Harris is the stage name of Adam Richard Wiles, a Scottish DJ, record producer, singer, and songwriter from Dumfries, Scotland. He began making electronic music as a teenager and released early recordings online before signing to major labels. His work spans electronic dance music and pop, and he has also used the alias Love Regenerator for a more techno-leaning project. Harris is known for solo releases and collaborations with artists including Rihanna, as well as for producing club-oriented and chart-focused tracks. He has won major industry awards and has been active since the early 2000s. In live settings, he is presented as a DJ and producer rather than as a band or conventional touring vocalist.
