Chris Travis, born Christopher Reginald Travis on December 2, 1993, in Memphis, Tennessee, began releasing music independently in 2011 via YouTube and SoundCloud. He joined the Raider Klan collective, led by SpaceGhostPurrp, and released his debut mixtape Codeine & Pizza as a member before departing in late 2012. Travis founded his own label, Waterboyz Entertainment, and became one quarter of the hip-hop group Seshollowaterboyz alongside BONES, Xavier Wulf, and Eddy Baker. His style features dark, atmospheric trap beats, slow deliberate flows, and lyrics addressing street life, depression, and drug use. Notable releases include Hidden in the Mist, Born in the Winter, Side Effects EP with the popular track 'Diamonds', and collaborations on songs like 'Crunch Time' and 'Water $Uicide'. He has maintained a consistent output of projects and singles since moving to Los Angeles in 2013. Travis built his fanbase through social media and performed at venues across the U.S. following his independent mixtapes.
