Circa Survive is an American alternative rock band formed in 2004 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, by vocalist Anthony Green and guitarist Colin Frangicetto, later joined by Brendan Ekstrom, Nick Beard, and Steve Clifford. The band’s sound is commonly described as alternative rock with post-hardcore, progressive, and atmospheric elements, marked by Green’s distinctive vocals, layered guitars, and complex rhythms.
