Coheed and Cambria is an American progressive rock band from Nyack, New York, formed in 1995 as Shabütie by Claudio Sanchez. The band adopted its current name in 2000 and consists of Sanchez (vocals, guitars, keyboards), Travis Stever (guitars, vocals), Josh Eppard (drums, keyboards, backing vocals), and Zach Cooper (bass, backing vocals). Their music blends progressive rock, heavy metal, post-hardcore, and pop elements. All albums form a concept series tied to The Amory Wars, a science fiction storyline by Sanchez, also adapted into comics and a novel. Key releases include The Second Stage Turbine Blade (2002), In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: 3 (2003, certified Gold by the RIAA), Good Apollo, I'm Burning Star IV (2005), and Year of the Black Rainbow (2010). The band conducted the Neverender concert series in 2008, performing their first four studio albums over four nights in multiple cities.
