Conjunto Primavera formed on March 21, 1978, in Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico, by saxophonist Juan Domínguez. The group started as a local act, signing with Joey Records in San Antonio, Texas, around 1980, and developed a romantic norteño-sax style featuring prominent saxophone and keyboards. Their breakthrough came with the 1993 album Me Nortie on AFG Sigma Records, followed by releases on Fonovisa that achieved gold status and multiple Latin Grammy nominations. Key members include Domínguez (saxophone/director since 1978), Tony Meléndez (lead vocals since 1989), and others on accordion, bajo sexto, drums, and bass. Achievements include the 2008 Billboard Latin Music Lifetime Achievement Award and the 2014 Latin Grammy for Best Norteño Album for Amor Amor. They perform romantic rancheras, boleros, and ballads in live settings.
