Courtney Barnett - Upcoming SoCal Concerts

Courtney Barnett, born November 3, 1987, in Sydney, Australia, moved to Melbourne in her early twenties and emerged in the local music scene playing guitar in bands such as Rapid Transit and Immigrant Union before launching her solo career. She founded Milk! Records in 2012 to release her debut EP I've Got a Friend Called Emily Ferris, followed by The Double EP: A Sea of Split Peas in 2013, which gained international attention. Her style features deadpan vocals, witty stream-of-consciousness lyrics, and guitar-driven indie rock. Barnett's debut album Sometimes I Sit and Think, and Sometimes I Just Sit (2015) earned a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist and four ARIA Awards, including Breakthrough Artist and Best Female Artist. Subsequent releases include the collaboration Lotta Sea Lice with Kurt Vile (2017), Tell Me How You Really Feel (2018), and Things Take Time, Take Time (2021). She is known live for her engaging performances, marked by assured guitar work and idiosyncratic delivery, honed through extensive touring.
