Crimewave is the electronic music project of Jake Wilkinson, originally from the North East coast of England and based in Manchester. He produces tracks that blend shoegaze guitar textures with dance and electronic elements, often compared to My Bloody Valentine and Aphex Twin, using guitars to create pulsing, layered soundscapes. Wilkinson's debut EP Altercation draws from post-lockdown nightlife experiences in Northern England, capturing chaotic scenes. His debut album Scenes explores nightclub culture through conceptual dance tracks built from guitar recordings. In 2024, he toured with Kim Gordon, George Clanton, and Machinedrum, and released 'Semaphore' via Fool's Gold Records. Crimewave is known for live performances in the UK underground scene, delivering visceral, experimental sets that fuse ethereal haze with club energy.
