Darren Styles, born Darren James Mew in 1975 in Colchester, Essex, England, is a DJ and producer who emerged from the UK underground hardcore scene in the early 1990s. He began DJing at age 16 and co-founded the production partnership Force & Styles with Paul Force in 1993, becoming pioneers in hardcore music and the first to produce a mix for Pete Tong's Essential Mix on Radio One. The duo created multiple chart entries including "Pretty Green Eyes," "Heart of Gold," and "Wonderland." Styles' solo career gained significant momentum with his 2008 debut album SkyDivin', which reached number 4 on the UK Albums Chart and sold over 250,000 copies. His production work spans hardcore, hard trance, and hardstyle, with notable collaborations including tracks with Da Tweekaz and W&W. In 2018, he co-founded the record label Electric Fox with Da Tweekaz. Styles has performed at major festivals including EDC Las Vegas, Tomorrowland, Defqon 1, and Creamfields, and maintains an active presence in the harder styles of electronic dance music.
