Daughtry is an American rock band formed in 2006 by Chris Daughtry, who placed fourth on the fifth season of American Idol. Hailing from North Carolina, where Daughtry grew up in Lasker, the band signed with RCA Records and released its self-titled debut album in November 2006. The album topped the Billboard 200, sold over five million copies in the US, and became the fastest-selling rock debut in Soundscan history, featuring hits like 'It's Not Over' (No. 4 on the Hot 100). It earned four Grammy nominations in 2008 and multiple American Music and Billboard Music Awards. Subsequent releases include Leave This Town (2009), Break the Spell (2011), Baptized (2013), Cage to Rattle (2018, Gold-certified), Dearly Beloved (2021), and the 2024 EP Shock to the System (Part One), with recent Active Rock No. 1 singles 'Artificial' and 'Pieces'. The band blends post-grunge and alternative rock styles. Daughtry maintains a strong live presence, regularly selling out concerts worldwide.
