Devin Kennedy, born October 4, 1996, in Hermosa Beach, California, grew up in a musical family with a grandfather who was a concert pianist and a father in film and TV music. He began playing drums, guitar, and bass before age 10, formed a pop-punk band in high school, and attended Berklee College of Music starting in 2015, studying production, songwriting, and business. Kennedy's style blends alternative R&B with pop influences from his rock roots, including bands like The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Fall Out Boy, and artists such as John Mayer. After high school, he toured as guitarist for James Maslow from 2018, gaining live performance experience. In 2018, he released five independent singles exceeding 650,000 streams, self-funded his debut EP, sold out his first Los Angeles headline show at the Peppermint Club, and received Hollywood Music in Media’s Best New Emerging Artist award. Known for intimate, candid songwriting and multi-instrumental performances, Kennedy has collaborated with artists including Ben Platt, Ryan Tedder, and Andy Grammer, accumulating tens of millions of streams independently.
