Die Spitz is an American rock band from Austin, Texas, formed in 2022 by lifelong friends Ava Schrobilgen (guitar, vocals), Eleanor Livingston (guitar, vocals), Kate Halter (bass), and Chloe de St. Aubin (drums, vocals). The band name, German for 'the pointed' or 'the sharp,' was chosen during an informal gathering. Drawing influences from heavy metal, pop punk, grunge, and alternative rock, including bands like Nirvana, Black Sabbath, Deftones, and PJ Harvey, their sound blends punk energy with melodic elements. They released their debut EP Revenge of Evangeline in late 2022, followed by Teeth in 2023 and their first full-length album Something to Consume in September 2025 via Third Man Records. The EPs gained attention in Austin, leading to frequent local shows and appearances at SXSW. In live performances, the three vocalists trade leads rapidly within songs and swap instruments, creating a dynamic stage presence.
