DragonForce is a British power metal band formed in London in 1999 by guitarists Herman Li and Sam Totman, originally under the name DragonHeart. Their music blends speed metal, melodic hooks, fantasy-themed lyrics, and highly technical guitar work, a style the band has also described as "extreme power metal". The band’s early releases included the debut album Valley of the Damned (2003), followed by albums such as Sonic Firestorm (2004) and Inhuman Rampage (2006), which brought wider attention through the song "Through the Fire and Flames". DragonForce has received a Grammy nomination and is noted for its fast, technically demanding live performances, especially rapid dual-guitar solos and elaborate stage energy.
