Emo Night - Upcoming SoCal Concerts

Emo Nite originated in 2014 in Los Angeles, founded by Morgan Freed and T.J. Petracca, with initial involvement from Babs Szabo, as a party event at an East L.A. dive bar to play emo and pop-punk music they enjoyed. It began as a casual gathering for friends but expanded into a recurring phenomenon featuring DJ sets, guest performances by artists such as members of blink-182, Dashboard Confessional, and All Time Low, alongside celebrities like Post Malone and Machine Gun Kelly. The event emphasizes communal experiences centered on emo-associated tracks, diverging from standard club formats by creating unique, interactive moments. Emo Nite lacks traditional albums or awards, focusing instead on live parties that have grown from local nights to national tours and appearances at festivals like Coachella. A Brooklyn counterpart, Emo Night Brooklyn, started by Alex Badanes and Ethan Maccoby, emerged similarly, hosting events that draw dedicated fans. Emo Nite LA is known for its high-energy live atmosphere, where attendees sing along to nostalgic emo and pop-punk songs, fostering a sense of shared subculture.
