Excision, the stage name of Jeffrey Abel (born April 29, 1986), is a Canadian DJ and electronic music producer from Kelowna, British Columbia. He began producing music in 2006, releasing his debut track 'Warning' in 2007 and founding Rottun Recordings that year. His style centers on dubstep, drum and bass, and breakbeat, characterized by heavy basslines blending aggressive metal energy with hip-hop influences. Excision has issued five full-length albums, including X Rated (2011, mau5trap), Virus (2016), and Apex (2018), alongside numerous EPs, singles, and 17 annual mixes. In 2020, he launched Subsidia Records after closing Rottun, supporting over 100 bass producers. He created festivals like Lost Lands and Bass Canyon under Excision Presents. His live performances feature powerful sound systems and elaborate visual productions, drawing large crowds at events worldwide.
