French Police is a Chicago-based post-punk and darkwave trio formed in 2018 by vocalist, guitarist, and songwriter Brian Flores. Initially a solo project following his previous band Karma Wears White Ties, Flores assembled the current lineup with lead guitarist Manny Herrera and bassist Rolando Donjuan after the pandemic to support live performances. Their music draws from post-punk influences like Interpol, blending rhythmic guitars and synths into melancholic dance tracks. The band released their self-titled debut album in 2019, followed by the EP Pedaleo Nocturno featuring tracks such as “Clock Man” and “Je Te Veux.” They continue to issue new music regularly, including material from 2025. Live, French Police performs with a consistent aesthetic of sunglasses and leather jackets, delivering seamless sets that prompt crowd energy, mosh pits, and encores.
