G. Love & Special Sauce is an American band from Philadelphia formed in 1993 around singer, guitarist, and harmonica player Garrett Dutton, known as G. Love. The group’s sound blends rock with blues, hip-hop, soul, and funk, and it first drew wider attention with its self-titled debut album in 1994, which included the song “Cold Beverage.” The band has continued to record and tour with a loose, groove-oriented style built around Dutton’s laid-back vocals, harmonica, and rhythmic guitar work. Live performances are known for extended jams, a relaxed stage feel, and a mix of blues-based songs with hip-hop and rock influences.
