Gipsy Kings featuring Nicolas Reyes - Upcoming SoCal Concerts

Gipsy Kings featuring Nicolas Reyes formed in 1976 in Arles, France, when members of two Gypsy families, the Reyes and Baliardo, joined together. Originally called Los Reyes, the group changed their name in 1982 to reflect their traveling lifestyle. Led by vocalist Nicolas Reyes and guitarist Tonino Baliardo, the band developed a fusion style combining flamenco guitar with rumba rhythms and pop sensibilities, rooted in their Spanish Gypsy heritage. The group achieved international success following their 1987 self-titled U.S. debut, which spent forty weeks on the charts. Their breakthrough single "Bamboleo" became a worldwide hit and introduced audiences to their distinctive rumba gitano sound. With over 20 million albums sold globally, Gipsy Kings became the first Gypsy band to achieve gold certification in the United States. The band continues to tour internationally, performing their catalog of flamenco-influenced compositions that blend traditional Spanish folk music with contemporary pop and Latin elements.
