Gothicumbia is a Los Angeles-based event series organized by the collective LosGothsCo, originating from downtown dive bar La Cita and expanding to venues like the Regent Theatre, Riverside, and San Francisco. It blends cumbia, new Latin alternative, post-punk, rock en español, and goth sounds, creating a space for the Latino goth community. Launched as a signature event by co-founder Andres Martinez, it addresses the lack of inclusive nightlife for Latino goth enthusiasts. The series features DJs such as Sizzle with Cumbiaton sets, Jinx, Dormence, Sulkform, and occasional appearances by Robo-Goth, drawing crowds with themed decorations like giant skeletons and rave lights. Its seventh edition occurred on June 15, 2024, at the Regent Theatre. Gothicumbia remains known for packed dance floors fostering cultural expression within the goth scene.
