Haircut 100 are a British pop and new wave band formed in Beckenham, Kent, in 1980 by Nick Heyward, Les Nemes, and Graham Jones. Their early sound blended pop, funk, and jazz-funk elements, placing them within the broader early-1980s new wave scene. They are best known for their 1982 debut album Pelican West, which produced UK hits including "Favourite Shirts (Boy Meets Girl)," "Love Plus One," and "Fantastic Day." After Heyward left in 1983, the band’s commercial profile declined, though Haircut 100 have remained noted for compact, melody-led songs and a bright, danceable live style associated with their early singles.
