Hatebreed is an American metalcore band formed in 1994 in New Haven, Connecticut, by vocalist Jamey Jasta and guitarist Wayne Lozinak, alongside early lineup changes that helped shape the group’s sound. Their music blends hardcore punk and heavy metal, and they became part of the Connecticut hardcore scene. The band’s debut album, Satisfaction Is the Death of Desire (1997), built an early following, and Perseverance (2002) reached the Billboard 200 chart after the group signed to Universal Records. Hatebreed has released eight studio albums and received a Grammy Award nomination, while their live reputation has been built on short, aggressive songs, audience participation, and high-energy performances.
