Intocable - Upcoming SoCal Concerts

Intocable formed in 1992 or 1993 in Zapata, Texas, by Ricardo 'Ricky' Muñoz (accordion and lead vocals) and René Martínez (drums), along with friends from junior high. Influenced by Ramón Ayala y Sus Bravos del Norte, the band developed a style blending Tejano and norteño elements, including cumbias, polkas, rock sensibilities, and vocal harmonies. They signed with EMI Latin and released their debut album Fuego Eterno in 1994, followed by the breakthrough Otro Mundo in 1995, featuring hits 'La Mentira' and 'Coqueta'. Other key releases include Intocable IV, Contigo, and X. The group has earned multiple awards, including Grammy Awards for Best Mexican/Mexican-American Album (2005) and Best Norteño Album (2011), Latin Grammy Awards for Best Norteño Album (2005, 2013), and a Billboard Latin Music Lifetime Achievement Award (2012). Intocable faced challenges expanding into Mexico but built a following through persistence. Their live performances emphasize tight instrumentation, romantic melodies, and audience connection, drawing from their Mexican-American roots.
