Jakobs Castle is the musical project of Jakob Nowell, a Southern California singer and songwriter known for work rooted in alternative rock and California punk/reggae influences. The project began in the early 2020s and was developed with producer and collaborator Jon Joseph. Nowell previously performed in the band LAW before focusing on Jakobs Castle. The project’s recorded output includes singles and the debut album Enter: The Castle, released in 2024. Its sound has been described as drawing from 1990s alternative rock, ska, reggae, and internet-era experimental pop elements. Live performances have included club dates and touring runs in support of the album, with the band presented as a full performing act rather than a solo alias.
