Jodeci is an American R&B quartet formed in 1989 in Charlotte, North Carolina, consisting of DeVanté Swing, Mr. Dalvin, K-Ci, and JoJo. The group emerged from two sets of brothers who initially performed gospel music before transitioning to R&B. After signing with Uptown Records in 1990, Jodeci released their debut album Forever My Lady (1991), which achieved mainstream success with three Billboard R&B No. 1 singles: "Forever My Lady," "Stay," and "Come and Talk to Me." The group became central to the New Jack Swing movement, blending soulful harmonies with hip-hop-influenced production. Their subsequent albums Diary of a Mad Band (1994) and The Show, the After Party, the Hotel (1995) solidified their commercial presence in 1990s R&B. Jodeci is recognized for their contributions to contemporary R&B ballads and their influence on the genre during the early 1990s.
