KATSEYE is a six-member global girl group formed in 2023 through the survival competition The Debut: Dream Academy, a collaboration between HYBE and Geffen Records. Selected from over 120,000 applicants, the members, Sophia Laforteza (Philippines), Yoonchae Jeong (South Korea), Daniela Avanzini (USA, Cuban-Venezuelan), Lara Raj (USA, Indian-American), Manon Bannerman (Switzerland, Ghanaian-Swiss-Italian), and Megan Skiendiel (USA, Chinese-Singaporean-Swedish), underwent intensive training in vocals, dance, and performance. The process was documented in the Netflix series KATSEYE: Pop Star Academy. The group debuted in 2024 with the single 'Debut' and EP SIS (Soft Is Strong), featuring 'Touch'. Their second EP, Beautiful Chaos (June 2025), includes 'Gnarly' and 'Gabriela' and reached #4 on the Billboard 200. KATSEYE blends pop with K-pop methodologies, drawing influences from groups like Destiny's Child and BLACKPINK.
