La Dispute is a post-hardcore band formed in 2004 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, by Jordan Dreyer, Brad Vander Lugt, Kevin Whittemore, Derek Sterenberg, and Adam Kool. The band's current lineup includes Dreyer on vocals, Vander Lugt on drums, Chad Sterenberg and Kevin Whittemore on guitars, and Adam Vass on bass. Known for experimental and uncompromising hardcore music, La Dispute has released five studio albums, beginning with Somewhere at the Bottom of the River Between Vega and Altair (2008) and continuing through Wildlife (2011), Rooms of the House (2015), Panorama (2020), and No One Was Driving The Car (2024). The band maintains creative control over their work and has built their career through independent and alternative labels. Their songwriting addresses complex emotional and existential themes, with Dreyer's vocal approach ranging from aggressive to refined delivery.
