Little River Band - Upcoming SoCal Concerts

Little River Band formed in Melbourne, Australia, in March 1975, with founding members Glenn Shorrock on lead vocals, Beeb Birtles and Graeham Goble on guitars and vocals, Ric Formosa on lead guitar, Roger McLachlan on bass, and Derek Pellicci on drums. The group emerged from members of prior Australian acts like Zoot, Mississippi, and Axiom, targeting American FM radio with harmony-driven soft rock. They released their self-titled debut album in 1975, followed by After Hours (1976), achieving U.S. success with hits including 'It's a Long Way There,' 'Help Is on Its Way,' 'Reminiscing,' 'Lonesome Loser,' and 'Cool Change.' Lineup changes began early, with Formosa replaced by David Briggs in 1976 and McLachlan by George McArdle; later shifts included John Farnham on vocals and extensive turnover through the decades. The band remains active with Wayne Nelson on lead vocals and bass since 1980, alongside current members Chris Marion, Ryan Ricks, Colin Whinnery, and Bruce Wallace. Known for tight vocal harmonies and polished live performances emphasizing their catalog of 1970s-1980s hits.
