Loathe is an English metalcore band formed in Liverpool in 2014 from members of the prior band Our Imbalance. The lineup includes lead vocalist Kadeem France, guitarist and vocalist Erik Bickerstaffe, drummer Sean Radcliffe, and bassist Feisal El-Khazragi. Signed to SharpTone Records, they released the EP Prepare Consume Proceed in 2015 (re-issued 2016), debut album The Cold Sun in 2017, a split EP with Holding Absence in 2018, and I Let It In and It Took Everything in 2020. Their music blends metalcore with shoegaze, nu-metal, and electronic elements, often structured as conceptual narratives exploring dystopian themes. The band received nominations for Best New Band at the Metal Hammer Golden Gods and Best UK Breakthrough Band at the Heavy Music Awards. They are recognized for intense live performances featuring visceral energy and multi-media elements.
