Los Yonics are a Mexican grupero band formed in 1975 in San Luis San Pedro, Guerrero. Founded by brothers Johnny, Bruno, and Joaquín Ayvar, the group initially performed tropical pop and ballads before relocating to Acapulco to establish their professional career. Their music gained significant popularity among Hispanic audiences in the United States during the 1980s, particularly in Los Angeles, Phoenix, San Jose, and El Paso, with multiple number-one albums on the Billboard Regional Mexican charts. The band's repertoire includes songs such as "Soy Yo," "Tres Tristes Tigres," "Palabras Tristes," and "Rosas Blancas." José Manuel Zamacona served as the band's lead vocalist and guitarist from its inception until his death in July 2021. Los Yonics continue to perform and maintain a presence in regional Mexican music.
