Maya Hawke, born July 8, 1998, in New York City to actors Ethan Hawke and Uma Thurman, began her career in modeling before transitioning to acting and music. She debuted as a musician in 2019 with singles 'To Love a Boy' and 'Stay Open,' followed by her first album Blush in 2020, Moss in 2022, Chaos Angel in 2024, and the Clipped Wings EP later that year. Her music draws from indie folk influences including Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan, and Joni Mitchell, emphasizing poetic lyrics set to relaxed, dusty arrangements. Hawke's debut solo live performances occurred in early 2020 with headlining gigs in New York City, supported by musicians such as Benjamin Lazar Davis and Tōth. She has since performed on television programs including The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, and The Daily Show, promoting tracks from Chaos Angel. While known primarily for her acting role as Robin Buckley in Netflix's Stranger Things, her music career focuses on translating personal poetry into song.
