Militarie Gun formed in 2020 in Los Angeles as the solo project of vocalist Ian Shelton, previously of the powerviolence band Regional Justice Center from the Seattle area. The band expanded to include guitarists Nick Cogan and William Acuña, drummer Vince Nguyen, and bassist Max Epstein. Their sound blends punk and hardcore with melodic hooks, drawing from influences like Fugazi, Guided By Voices, and Black Flag. Key releases include the 2020 debut EP My Life Is Over, the 2021 All Roads Lead To The Gun EPs, the 2023 full-length Life Under The Gun, and its acoustic counterpart Life Under The Sun. The group has maintained an intensive touring schedule since 2021, performing over 90 shows in quick succession and sharing stages with acts across punk, hardcore, and indie scenes. Militarie Gun is known for high-energy live performances that mix aggressive punk drive with accessible, hook-driven songs, often adapting setlists to engage diverse audiences.
