Missing Persons formed in 1980 in Los Angeles, California, by Dale Bozzio (vocals), her husband Terry Bozzio (drums), Warren Cuccurullo (guitar), Patrick O'Hearn (bass), and Chuck Wild (keyboards), all former members of Frank Zappa's band. The group released a self-titled EP in 1981, followed by their debut album Spring Session M in 1982, which included tracks 'Words,' 'Destination Unknown,' and 'Walking in L.A.' and achieved gold status with over 500,000 copies sold. Subsequent albums were Rhyme & Reason (1984) and Color in Your Life (1986), after which the band disbanded. The band reunited periodically, including in 2001-2003 and 2011, with lineup changes, and released Hollywood Lie in 2023, their first original album in 37 years, alongside a 1982 live album in 2024. Known for new wave style with Dale Bozzio's distinctive vocals and visuals that gained MTV exposure, Missing Persons delivered energetic live performances capturing their early 1980s peak.
