Modest Mouse is an American rock band formed in 1993 in Issaquah, Washington, by Isaac Brock (vocals/guitar), Eric Judy (bass), and Jeremiah Green (drums). The band recorded its debut EP, Blue Cadet-3, Do You Connect?, in 1994 at Dub Narcotic Studios, followed by singles on Sub Pop and the 1996 album This Is a Long Drive for Someone with Nothing to Think About. Their 1997 release The Lonesome Crowded West established a cult following in indie rock. Blending indie rock, punk, and experimental elements with Brock's distinctive vocals and lyrics, Modest Mouse achieved mainstream success after signing with Epic Records in 2000. The 2004 album Good News for People Who Love Bad News went platinum, driven by the hit 'Float On,' while 2007's We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank featured former Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr. Lineup changes included Green's temporary departure in 2003 and returns by members like Dann Gallucci. The band maintains an active touring presence, performing at festivals such as Fun Fun Fun Fest.
