Motionless in White formed in Scranton, Pennsylvania, in 2004, initially under names like One Way Ticket and When Breathing Stops before adopting their current moniker, inspired by an Eighteen Visions song. Founded by Chris 'Motionless' Cerulli (lead vocals) alongside early members including drummer Angelo Parente and others, the band experienced multiple lineup changes, leaving Cerulli as the sole original member. The current lineup features Cerulli, guitarists Ryan Sitkowski and Ricky Olson, bassist Justin Morrow, and drummer Vinny Mauro. Associated with metalcore incorporating gothic, industrial, and nu metal elements, they signed to Fearless Records after early releases like the 2007 EP The Whorror and debuted with Creatures (2010), featuring the track 'Abigail.' Notable albums include Reincarnate (2014), Graveyard Shift (2017) on Roadrunner Records, Disguise (2019), which reached #27 on the Billboard 200, and Scoring the End of the World (2022). The band built a following through intense local performances at venues like The Staircase and tours including Vans Warped Tour, establishing a reputation for energetic live shows marked by theatrical aesthetics and heavy sound.
