O.A.R. - Upcoming SoCal Concerts

O.A.R., short for Of A Revolution, is an American rock band formed in 1996 in Rockville, Maryland, by high school friends Marc Roberge (vocals/guitar), Chris Culos (drums), Richard On (guitar), and Benj Gershman (bass). While attending Ohio State University, they recruited saxophonist/guitarist Jerry DePizzo, completing the core lineup. The band blends rock with reggae, funk, and jam elements, gaining an early following through independent releases like the 1996 debut The Wanderer and 1999's Soul's Aflame, featuring live staples such as "That Was A Crazy Game of Poker". After signing with Lava Records in 2005, O.A.R. achieved mainstream radio success with singles "Love and Memories" and "Shattered (Turn the Car Around)" from albums Stories of a Stranger and All Sides. They built popularity on college campuses via relentless touring and grassroots promotion, including Napster-driven buzz around 2000. Known for extended jam sessions and audience participation, their live shows emphasize communal energy and songs that encourage singalongs.
