Orbit Culture formed in 2013 in Eksjö, Sweden, by vocalist and guitarist Niklas Karlsson, along with lead guitarist Maximilian Zinsmeister, drummer Markus Bladh, and bassist Christoffer Olsson. The band developed its sound in an old power station, releasing the debut EP Odyssey that year, followed by the full-length In Medias Res in 2014 and Rasen in 2016. Their style blends melodic death metal and groove metal, characterized by heavy riffs, melodic elements, and intense rhythms. Subsequent albums Redfog (2018), Nija (2020), Shaman (2021), Descent (2023), and Death Above Life established their presence, with signing to Century Media Records. The current lineup features Karlsson, guitarist Richard Hansson, bassist Fredrik Lennartsson, and drummer Christopher Wallerstedt. They have performed at festivals including Sweden Rock, Download, and Bloodstock, and toured with Machine Head, Avatar, and Slipknot, including at Madison Square Garden. Orbit Culture is known for delivering technically proficient live shows with layered soundscapes and groove-driven energy.
