Pierce the Veil formed in San Diego, California, in 2006 by brothers Vic Fuentes (lead vocals, rhythm guitar) and Mike Fuentes (drums), following the breakup of their prior band Before Today. Guitarist Tony Perry and bassist Jaime Preciado joined in 2007, solidifying the lineup. The band blends post-hardcore with pop-punk elements, featuring intricate guitar work, dynamic structures, and themes of relationships and mental health. Their debut album A Flair for the Dramatic (2007) was released on Equal Vision Records, followed by Selfish Machines (2010), Collide with the Sky (2012) on Fearless Records, which peaked at No. 12 on the Billboard 200 with the track 'King for a Day', Misadventures (2016), and The Jaws of Life (2023). Mike Fuentes departed in 2017. Pierce the Veil maintains a dedicated following through energetic live performances, including extensive touring such as Warped Tour appearances.
