Powerman 5000 is an American rock band formed in Boston in 1991 by frontman Spider One (Michael Cummings), the younger brother of musician Rob Zombie. The band blends punk, rap, metal, and electronic elements into a style Spider One termed "action rock." They achieved their greatest commercial success with the 1999 album Tonight the Stars Revolt!, which reached number 29 on the Billboard 200 and produced the hit single "When Worlds Collide." The band also gained wider exposure through their cover of "Relax," featured in the 2001 film Zoolander. Spider One has remained the sole original member throughout numerous lineup changes. Powerman 5000 has released eleven studio albums and continues to perform regularly, including international festival appearances.
