Rebelution is a reggae rock band formed in 2004 in Isla Vista, California, by University of California, Santa Barbara students Eric Rachmany (vocals/guitar), Rory Carey (keyboards), Marley D. Williams (bass), and Wesley Finley (drums). The band gained initial traction through local shows and an independent EP that became a radio hit in Hawaii, leading to their debut full-length album Courage to Grow in 2007, which marked their breakthrough. Subsequent releases include Peace of Mind (2012), a triple album topping the Billboard Reggae Chart, and five consecutive #1 albums on that chart starting in 2009, along with a 2017 Grammy nomination for Best Reggae Album. Rebelution blends roots reggae with rock elements and performs extensively, playing 100-120 shows annually at festivals like Bonnaroo, Outside Lands, and Lollapalooza, and headlining venues such as Red Rocks Amphitheatre.
