Red Hot Chili Peppers is an American rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1982. The group was started by Anthony Kiedis, Flea, Hillel Slovak, and Jack Irons, who met through Fairfax High School and early Los Angeles punk and funk scenes. Their lineup has changed over time, but the band has remained active for decades. The band is known for a sound that blends rock with funk, punk, and alternative influences. Its recorded output includes albums such as Blood Sugar Sex Magik, Californication, By the Way, Stadium Arcadium, The Getaway, and Unlimited Love. In live settings, Red Hot Chili Peppers are known for performance-driven concerts built around bass-led grooves, rhythmic guitar work, and a long-running catalog of original material.
