RÜFÜS DU SOL is an Australian electronic trio formed in Sydney in 2010 by lifelong friends Tyrone Lindqvist (vocals/guitar), Jon George (keyboards), and James Hunt (drums). The band originated from their shared time at Saint Ignatius College boarding school and began creating music during a vacation in Byron Bay, releasing a self-titled EP shortly after. Their sound fuses indie, deep house, and alternative electronic elements with emotive melodies and improvisational influences. They debuted with the album Atlas in 2013, which topped Australian charts, followed by Bloom (2015, recorded in Berlin), Solace (2018, conceived in Joshua Tree), Surrender (2021), and Inhale/Exhale (latest). The group relocated to Venice Beach, California, in 2016 and earned Grammy nominations in the Dance/Electronic category. Tracks like 'Innerbloom' gained prominence through streaming and festival play, including multiple Coachella appearances.
